Master Suite Remodel Walk Through – Part 1 (Video)

Step-by-step walkthrough detailing everything that went in to remodeling our client’s master bedroom suite.

We recently completed this amazing Master Bedroom Suite remodel for some very happy customers!

An addition was previously put on the house that provided more space for the master suite area of the house, but the interior was very poorly designed. According to the homeowners, it felt like two separate bedrooms, neither of which felt like an enjoyable or welcoming space. In addition, there was only a tiny bathroom, there was very little storage space, the floors were uneven and in terrible condition, it was poorly lit, and the rooms were always too cold in winter and too hot in summer.

We set out to design and then build out an entirely new experience in this space, one that provided open, well-lit, welcoming spaces; beautifully painted and appointed rooms; a large master bath with a double vanity and luxurious shower area; and plenty of large, well-designed storage spaces.

The sloping roof and existing ductwork presented design issues at the outset, but we carefully incorporated those features throughout the project. For example, our always-reliable local plumbing experts at Service Force Plumbing helped us install a linear drain in the shower to accommodate the ducts under the floor, and it turned out to be an amazing visual feature as well. We also incorporated the sloping roof into the shower area by placing a sitting bench where there would otherwise have been unusable space, and we similarly placed the toilet of the master bath under a sloped ceiling area to make full use of the available space.

The new master bath space is beautifully appointed with custom stonework, amazing tilework, custom glass for the shower, and a lovely dual shower head system.

The first room, which was previously cluttered and hard to optimize, is now a wide-open sitting room with plenty of sensible storage. And the second room is now completely reworked to become a spacious and welcoming bedroom. We removed and reconfigured the closet spaces, and we installed a mini-split HVAC system to make the area comfortable and inviting year-round. It’s clean, it’s discreet, it’s quiet, and you can change the settings using the remote control right from the master bed.

The end result of this project is just amazing. Everything flows into the next room, into the next room, and feels like a natural part of the house. The homeowners are thrilled with the result, and before they even know it, the old, dark, uninviting spaces will be a distant memory.
